What's The Difference Between
Mental Health Coaching and Life Coaching?

Mental Health Coaching is a personalized approach to providing support, guidance, validation, and clarity.  Where as most Life Coaches may only tend to focus on one particular aspect of your life, I take a holistic, complete picture of every aspect that you are comfortable sharing with me. By providing insight on events and relationships from your past, that may have directly or indirectly impacted you, we can work together to gain a better clarity moving into the future. 

What's the Difference Between Coaching and Therapy?

Therapists treat, diagnose or assess their client’s mental health.  Therapists may prescribe medication or give advice about any medications and prescribe treatment. Therapists “process” trauma with their clients Where coaches do not.

Should I Choose Coaching
Over Traditional Therapy?

This of course is a very personal decision and coaching may be the right thing for you just as much as it may not be. There are various reasons why a person may choose one or the other but some choose coaching because of the cost effectiveness vs. therapy. Often, coaching can be significantly more cost-effective depending on individual circumstances. Lots of my coaching clients also see professional therapists as more support can always be a positive thing. In fact, lots of coaches work in collaboration with therapists to provide more support for clients or to focus on areas of their life that are not the primary focus of the therapist. I often collaborate with various clinicians with a higher degree and countless hours of experience.  I also work with you to make that decision. For instance if I believe that a higher level of care would be a better fit and more beneficial, then that is the recommendation I will present to you. 

Do I really need coaching?
I can usually handle my problems.

Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, coaching is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you're at in life and making a commitment to change the situation by seeking help. Coaching provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers,

re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

Do You Take Insurance? How much is Coaching?

Currently I do not take insurance but a "superbill" can be provided for you to seek reimbursement from your carrier. You can also look at your carriers site to determine what if any mental health reimbursement they provide. Currently my fee is $75 an hour but I also provide different plans depending on the need and circumstance.
